YA Reader, who owns this great blog named Mostly Reading YA, is hosting this great challenge which consists in reading foreign books that have been translated into English. You can find a list of translated books suitable to review for YA Reader's celebration (which will occur in April), here. You can also suggest books that you'd like to be included in the challenge.
I think this challenge is a great idea because there are not many foreign books translated into English and published in the US, the United Kingdom .. which is too bad according to me. So if you're interested in a book of the list (or another that comes to your mind) make sure you contact YA Reader and set a date to post the review of this book on her blog.
The book I'll read and review is Rouge Rubis (Ruby Red) which is a German book written by Kerstin Gier released on March 30th in France and May 10th in the US.
Goodreads' blurb : Gwyneth Shepherd's sophisticated, beautiful cousin Charlotte has been prepared her entire life for traveling through time. But unexpectedly, it is Gwyneth, who in the middle of class takes a sudden spin to a different era! Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon, the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.
