My thoughts : I have so many positive things to say about this book that I don't even know where to start. I have no idea why I waited so long before reading this book. I honestly feared to be disappointed in it because of all the fab reviews I had read and a lot of blogger were strongly recommending it to me, so my expectations were set pretty high. This was one of the best book I've ever read and it seriously had been a very long time since I had been gripped into a book that way. My only complaint is that it was too short lol, no seriously it was perfect !
For those who read, don't you think Half-Blood is very similar to the Vampire Academy series ? That's not a negative point at all because I love the VA series, but I was very surprised at how many things these two series have in common : Alex and Rose are so much alike, Aiden and Dimitri as well ... But once again that's not a complaint. :)
I absolutely love Alex, definitely one of my favourite YA heroine. She went through a lot of awful things throughout the book and still she managed to deal with them so graciously. I truly love her.
Then we have Aiden <3. I actually have a big idiotic smile on my face each time I think about him, lol. An amazing character, one of those that stick with you forever. I can't say anything about Alex and Ayden's relationship because I want to keep my review spoilerfree but it is AWESOME !
I also really cared for Caleb, who is Alex's bestfriend, Deacon (Ayden's brother) and pretty much every character in this book :) !
Jennifer L. Armentrout's writing is amazing .. I was incapable of putting Half-Blood down (except to got to college). I am dying to read all this woman has ever written in her life. It actually reminds of Hazel in The Fault in Our Stars when she says that she'd be willing to read everything her favourite author has ever written, even his grocery list :) !! I totally worship Mrs Armentrout !!
I NEED more and I've actually already ordered Pure (the second book in the series) and Daimon (the prequel novella). This book was amazing, definitely the best I've read in 2012 so far and I strongly advise you to pick up a copy if you haven't yet, which I higgly doubt because I was the only idiot who hadn't read it from what I've heard, just kidding, READ IT and see for yourself ;) !
5 STARS : Pure awesomeness
